I'm a different sort of designer.

Understanding complexity is an ever increasing requirement for knowledge seekers and change makers in the 21st century.
Leaders and thinkers astute to the complex set of issues we face have continued to raise both alarm and awareness as to how complexity might be tackled through a different set of tools.
Designers of the 21st century are no longer merely in the business of designing things. We are investigating, facilitating and reflecting to better understand the state of the complexities present, and using creative tools to imagine our potential future collectively.
Using foresight, systemic analysis, strategic facilitation and collaborative awareness competencies, I am a different sort of designer made to lead collaborative strategy.
Innovative design requires nuanced approaches.

SYSTEM MAPPING & USER RESEARCH: HUMAN GENETIC MODIFICATION
Human Genetic Modification (HGM) is one of the most consequential technological developments of our time.
This system analysis worked to understand the current public perceptions of HGM and how perceptions may change over time, through strategic envisioning. It also mapped stakeholders and regulations currently forwarding this technology and devised policy recommendations for advancing dialogue and co-creation of global and domestic regulation.
My Role:
Conceptualizer, researcher, workshop facilitator, systems analysts, writer
BUSINESS MODEL INNOVATION: NEW MEDIA ENVIRONMENTS
What is the role of an independent producer in the new media environment?
A new business model was required to transition a seasoned product into new media. Current trends were distilled, the client's core business capabilities were assessed and client skills and motivators were considered. A new business model concept positioned the client’s talent in relationship to her aspirations, making use of the trends dominating the new media sphere.

My Role:
Client manager, business analyst, trend researcher, writer

TOOL DESIGN: BUILDING COLLABORATIVE ENVIRONMENTS
Communication and collaboration are complicated processes which are dependent on a variety of factors, points of influence and conditions. “Sum of Its Parts” is a holistic framework of inquiry which fills an opportunity space for facilitated and co-created collaborative self-organization techniques. This tool was created to foster intentional conversations between groups during the process of collaborative creation.
My Role
Conceptualizer, researcher, facilitator, analyst
